The QuikPac OneStep HCV Test is an immunochromatographic assay for qualitative determination of hepatitis C antibodies in serum or plasma. The immunochromatographic device contains a membrane embedded with HCV antigen and fiberglass containing a dye-conjugate which binds to human IgG in serum or plasma.When HCV antibody is present in the test specimen the antigen on the membrane, the antibody, and the dye-conjugate will bind together and form a sandwich structure which is seen as a distinctive visual pattern in the test zone of the device.HCV antibody in the test specimen is detected in approximately fifteen minutes.
