QuikPac OneStep HIV-1/2 Test |
| |
QuikPac OneStep HIV-1/2 Test is an immunochromatographic assay for qualitative determination of antibodies against human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) types 1 and 2, as an indication of HIV infection. The test utilizes recombinant viral antigens and yields distinctive, visually read results in fifteen minutes. The immunochromatographic device contains a membrane embedded with HIV-1 and HIV-2 antigen and fiberglass containing a dye-conjugate which binds to human antibodies against HIV-1 and HIV-2 antigen the test speciman. When HIV antibody is present in the test specimen, the antigen on the membrane, the antibody and the dye-conjugate will bind together and form a sandwich structure which is seen as a distinctive visual pattern in the test zone of the device. HIV antibody in the test specimen is detected.
